It’s the last few days of
summer and I think EVERYONE is a little antsy!
I love it when the kids are actually excited
about school starting. The 11 y.o. starts middle school this year and she is
super excited, while the 19 y.o. is signing up for his first college classes
today. Woo hoo! (We shall see what he signs up for…eghad)
The 13 y.o. is kinda meehh
about the whole thing. Hey phoned it in on the whole school clothes/supply
thing and was like eeehhh….get me whatever. Allrighty then…ye shall get what ye
ask fer! Like my mama always said (or somebody important like that); “ya get
what ya get and ya can’t pitch a fit!”

In preparation for the first
day of school, we went to get haircuts today. He, he…I had to do a sneak attack
of the 13 y.o.. WHY do boys this age NOT want their hair cut? (He had a near coronary
at the beginning of summer when I cut his hair short.) Well guess what…it’s
that time again! Bwa, ha ha.
I heard about the JCP special the other day...if only I were that organized to have planned it in enough time to get them in....sigh...
It actually went pretty
smoothly. We were in, out and done in a flash with minimal resistance. Then off
to lunch.
Now to get the mini munchkin to
take her nap WITHOUT taking her diaper off!
Good luck on the new year, I'm sure you will have lots of stories to tell!
ReplyDeleteThank ya ma'am.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine giving birth to 5 kids, 3 was enough for me. I don't see what the big deal is about haircuts? Kids have so many more style options and ability to be individuals today, why tear down their self esteem by making it a "sneak attack?" At 13 my 2 older kids got a say in their personal look. Some fights aren't worth it. I'd rather they have the right school supplies then the hottest new hairstyle. My boys go with their Dad to the barber, its a guy thing, a chance for male bonding and there is no hassle at all. You don't mention your husband but perhaps their Dad could help you out since you've got such a handful?
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to make a reply. It's not a matter of the hottest hairstyle it's a matter or needing a haircut so he can see for school. I don't know about you, but my husband works Monday through Friday it's just a lot easier for me take care of these things. I don't quite remember saying that it was a hassle... If I lived to have my children dictate to me when and what we were going to do on a daily basis we wouldn't get ANYTHING done! (last time I checked...I'm the adult)

BTW....I do know what birth control is and if we wanted any less than 5 I could have stopped at any time!
